New growth after fire – northern inland conservation area bounces back
It has been a difficult time for landholders, staff and wider communities impacted by fire across the state. Our thoughts are with all of those affected, including those that have put so much time and care into managing and protecting conservation areas on their land.
It is important during these times to share the stories that help us to remember how resilient the Australian landscape can be.
Landholder Shirley Handy featured in The Land article
Shirley Handy, a conservation agreement-holder from Inverell, was the feature of an article in The Land digital and print on Thursday 17 October. The article celebrates Shirley’s and many other farmers’ conservation efforts, as well as BCT’s latest outcomes.

Owned by Margaret Mc Bride and Steve Radford, White Leeds Station is a 10,000 hectare property near Broken Hill. When Margaret and Steve purchased the property a large portion of the land was significantly degraded.
