Celebrating Tessa - Johnson Walker

Tessa Johnson-Walker (Tessa) was born in England in 1939. She emigrated to Australia with her family in the 1960s and moved to the North Coast region of NSW in the 1980s and became involved with nature conservation through the North Coast Environment Council and Clarence Valley WIRES.

New BCT Board announced by Environment Minister

Three new members have been appointed to the board of the Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) to help drive conservation outcomes on private land across NSW.

Environment Minister Matt Kean said the new board members will bring a wealth of skills and experience to the board.

The beauty of Belltrees

Belltrees is a property of over 120 hectares nestled below the cliffs of The Great Escarpment on the mid north coast of NSW. The Belltrees conservation agreement is one of the first agreements established with the BCT back in 2018. Since purchasing the property in 1983, owner Mike Richardson has dedicated almost 40 years to clearing invasive species from the 101-hectare valley of subtropical rainforest.
